The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts announces the launch of the free mobile app for the 2nd annual Light City, Baltimore’s festival of light, music and innovation taking place Friday, March 31 through Saturday, April 8. The free app, developed by Baltimore-based Mindgrub Technologies and sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, is now available for download on Apple and Android devices. Attendees are encouraged to download the app prior to their visit in order to see all the festival has to offer, including the festival map, schedule, and important information.

The map shows the 58 free attractions along the BGE Light Art Walk at the Inner Harbor, including the 23 illuminated visual artworks, 8 food and beverage bars, live performances, and concert stages. Also included in the map is the Columbus Center, the venue for Labs@LightCity, the festival’s daytime innovation conferences, as well as information on each of the six conferences.

New to the app this year will be information on the 8 different Neighborhood Lights locations throughout Baltimore, each one offering illuminated artworks reflecting the personality of the individual communities. Users will also be able to see a map of ‘Brilliant Baltimore’ locations, buildings and businesses outside of the festival footprint that will have special lighting during Light City.

Under “Experiences” users can find the full nine-day festival schedule, including the daytime Labs@LightCity conferences, free concerts, street theater performances, and other special events. Attendees can also create their own customizable schedule with the app by adding experiences they don’t want to miss, with the option to allow Push Notifications for those specific events.

Beyond the map and schedule, the app contains important information for festival-goers such as transportation and parking, accessibility, social media, events around the Inner Harbor, and a guide on how to plan their individual festival experience.
