The Baltimore Ravens Innovation Challenge at Light City is a startup pitch competition led by the Baltimore Ravens as part of the Light City Festival. The Ravens will provide an opportunity for one Baltimore-based company to earn the benefits of Sponsorship of the Baltimore Ravens Football Team for the 2017 Season.

The six (6) applicants selected as finalists will be invited to pitch to a live audience of attendees and a panel of judges at SocialLab@LightCity on Thursday, April 6, 2017, 6pm-8pm, at the Columbus Center, hosted by the Baltimore Festival of the Arts, Inc.


The six finalists are:


DinnerTime: DinnerTime’s highly personalized, ‘sale-smart’ meal planning and shopping web app helps busy families save time and money, reduce stress, and eat healthier automatically.


Fixt: On-demand mobile device repair with the click of a button that makes repairs easier, cheaper and more reliable.


Hungry Harvest: Produce delivery company working with local farms and wholesalers to recover their surplus produce and deliver it to subscribers every week at a discounted price.


Loople: Loople provides user-verified information in real time about what all of the bars and restaurants around them are like, from drink specials and live music to pool tables and bar games.


Treason Toting Company: Treason Toting Company designs and manufactures soft travel accessories in Baltimore, MD such as backpacks, tote bags, duffle bags and weekenders made from canvas and leather.


Waxing Kara: Waxing Kara’s mission is to craft beautiful and functional handmade goods in a sustainable way using natural ingredients such as honey and wax that depend on bees.


The winner will be selected by a panel of judges that will be present for the pitches and an audience voting process. After selection, the winning company will work directly with the Baltimore Ravens to execute the sponsorship. The winning company will receive sponsorship benefits with an approximate value of $200,000.00 as outlined below.

LED Signage

The Ravens are installing a second LED ring in M&T Bank Stadium prior to the 2017 season. LED signage is used for sponsor animations and branding, promotions, and player & team highlights.

2017 Ravens Pitch Winner will receive one (1)  30-second animated sponsor messaging LED across one ring of LED boards per half (2 per game)

The second LED ring board will showcase the sponsor logo in a TBD capacity, such as being integrated with fantasy stats and out of town scores, and will run in conjunction with the sponsor messaging on the other LED ring

Ravens Gameday

Ravens Gameday is distributed, free of charge, to more than 70,000 fans that enter M&T Bank Stadium on game days. The publication includes content such as depth charts, offensive and defensive strategies, league standings, game facts, injury reports, community information, upcoming Ravens events and other important facts related to the Ravens and the NFL.

Ravens Yearbook

The Ravens Yearbook gives a brief biography of Ravens players and draft picks and a preview of the 2017 schedule and upcoming opponents. The yearbook is distributed to all PSL holders, suite holders and team partners prior to the start of training camp. The yearbook is also available at retail locations.

RavensWalk is considered one of the elite pre-game destinations in the NFL. This fan-friendly area offers fans a multitude of food and beverage options, live entertainment, interactive games and much more. RavensWalk is open 3 hours prior to kickoff before every pre and regular season home game and is located just outside of Gate A, where over 60% of fans enter the stadium.

2017 Ravens Pitch Winner will have the opportunity to place a kiosk on RavensWalk for product display/giveaway and/or service sign-up for two (2) Ravens preseason home games.



Ravens Training Camp

Each year during Training Camp, the Baltimore Ravens hold an open-to-the-public practice outside of the Under Armour Performance Center. Training Camp open practices offer Ravens fans the opportunity to get closer to their favorite players and participate in interactive areas & autograph sessions.

2017 Ravens Pitch Winner will have the opportunity to place a kiosk on the concourse area for product display/giveaway and/or service sign-up during the M&T Bank Stadium Open Practice.



Ravens Flock Festival at M&T Bank Stadium

The Ravens Flock Festival was held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 11:00am – 3:00pm at M&T Bank Stadium, continuing the celebration of the 2016 NFL Draft and kicking off an exciting new season of Ravens football. With 6,000 fans in attendance, this event offered fans a chance to witness history as we announced our two 4th round picks LIVE on NFL Network. Fans also had the opportunity to meet the Ravens first draft pick, OT Ronnie Stanley, and 4th round pick, CB Tavon Young moments after he was selected. In addition, fans watched the draft live on RavensVision and on TVs throughout the stadium, as well as participated in tours of the home locker room, interactive games and more. Former and current Ravens players were also on-site for fan forums and a kids-only autograph session.

Opportunity to provide Ravens approved giveaway/collateral at sponsor’s expense


The Winner of the competition will be subject to the Ravens Standard Terms and Conditions and NFL Rules.


The Winner is solely responsible for and shall bear all costs associated with the:


(i) design, installation, maintenance, preparation and production of promotions, giveaways, and advertisements
(ii) production of commercials or spots
(iii) design, production, installation, replacement and renewal of signage and ad panels. Winner will obtain, at its sole cost and expense, any and all licenses, permits and consents required in connection with the promotional, advertising and giveaway material supplied by the Winner to the Baltimore Ravens.


All material is subject to approval by the Ravens and their affiliates, including but not limited to the NFL Constitution and Bylaws.


The Winner shall procure and maintain in effect through the term of their contract with the Baltimore Ravens specific insurance as outlined in their contract with an aggregate of at least $2,000,000.


By submitting an application, applicate understands the above conditions and that the Winner will solely enter into an agreement with the Baltimore Ravens.  Baltimore Festival of the Arts, Inc. (BFAI) and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, Inc (BOPA) assumes no liability and shall have no liability or obligation during the course of the competition.


By participating you agree to hold BOPA, BFAI, the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore (the “city”), its elected appointed officials, employees, agents, and volunteers from any and all liability, loss, injuries or damages associated with participation in this Competition.
