Join the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts in celebrating the completed restoration of the Cherry Hill mural (Enoch Pratt Free Library Cherry Hill Branch, 606 Cherry Hill Rd # 100, Baltimore, MD 21225) originally designed by Tom Miller, one of Baltimore’s most prolific muralists. Tom Miller (1945 – 2000) was a well-loved Baltimore artist who painted scenes of African American life.
His largest mural, located at the Enoch Pratt Free Library Cherry Hill Branch, was painted in 1987 after earning his M.F.A. from the Mount Royal School of Art at the Maryland Institute College of Art. This celebration is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided by CUPs Coffeehouse.
The mural restoration is a collaboration project by the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, with support from the Baltimore Casino Local Development Corporation and The City of Baltimore, Mayor Catherine E. Pugh. Additionally, local artist Shawn James of Mural Masters was commissioned to restore this important landmark.
