All exhibitions, tents and stages at the festival are wheelchair accessible; all portable restroom locations include accessible bathrooms and lighting. Reserve parking at Baltimoreparking.com. The Light City festival is 100% free and open to the public, held outdoors along the waterfront from the South Shore to Harbor East. Labs@LightCity, the daytime social innovation conference is held at the Columbus Center and registration is Pay What You Can. Light City is also in 14 neighborhoods with the Neighborhood Lights initiative (April 6-8); all of these events are also 100% free and open to the public.
Commissions for Light City’s visual art installations are awarded through an independent jurying process. To submit a proposal, go to lightcity.org after May 15 for information on the 2019 event. Musical acts are selected through BOPA’s Sound Off Live audition event; applications are posted after August 1 here.
Light City draws about 470,000 attendees to the festival; the daytime conferences attract about 500 people per day.
Temporary ATMs are located throughout the festival, near most food and beverage concession stands.

The centerpiece of the festival, the 2018 BGE Light Art Walk features 21 new light art installations, concerts, performances, local food and beverage (including the limited edition Lumen Ale crafted by Brewer’s Art and the Night Thyme specialty cocktail), fun activities for children, pop-up street theater and more. There is an Opening Night Parade on April 14 at 8pm, and a Closing Night fireworks finale at 11:45pm on April 21.
Bike parking is available on the back lawn of the Visitor Center, accessible via Light Street at Conway Street, or from the Jones Falls bike trail.
More than 60 buildings across the City skyline join the party and show off their Baltimore pride by getting lit during Light City. Twelve neighborhoods have entered the Brilliant Baltimore Community Showcase; vying for cash prizes, they will be showing their civic pride by lighting up their neighborhoods. Brilliant Baltimore Fringe is a full calendar of special events happening all around town.
In just its second year, Light City 2017 attracted more than 470,000 nighttime visitors, generated $44 million in economic impact and created one billion media impressions for Baltimore. And the Light City effect continues to multiply; BOPA has awarded $2 million back to local Baltimore artists since the festival’s inception. Light City’s 2018 economic impact report will be announced early summer.

The Light City festival is open from 7-11pm and until 12am on Friday & Saturdays. Labs@LightCity’s morning Labs take place from 8am-12pm; afternoon sessions are 1-5pm. Hours for Neighborhood Lights events vary.
Light City takes place rain or shine. In the event of dangerously inclement weather, the festival will temporarily close and guests will be asked seek indoor shelter inside until otherwise instructed.
Seven daytime innovation conferences with 130+ speakers from April 18-21; tracks are Health, Green, Education, Social, Art, Makers and Food; located at IMET Columbus Center (701 East Pratt Street); registration for this amazing, inspiring conference is Pay What You Can and can be secured here.

Concert Stage (Inner Harbor Amphitheater); also, Morgan State University is a proud sponsor of the Club Light City Stage featuring nightly DJ sets (Kaufmann Pavilion next to Rash Field). As long as they do not violate any laws, festival-goers are free to walk the festival grounds and thus send their message. Amplified sound and static displays are not allowed. Groups are strongly discouraged from leafleting due to sanitation issues. Illegal vendors/ performers, not hired or contracted by the festival, are not permitted. All sanctioned vendors and exhibitors will have a festival-issued credential.
Temporary restrooms and hand sanitizers are located throughout the festival: Rash Field, West Shore Park, Pier 5 and Pier 6.

Report to the Pier 5 Hotel; all daytime Labs@LightCity volunteers report to the IMET Columbus Center. All volunteers must be pre-registered; no walk-ups permitted.

YouthLabs@LightCity takes place at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, where Baltimore City Public School students attend a lab designed specifically for them; featuring hands-on activities, presentations and dialogue from Labs speakers, April 19-20.
